Talking Ya thanks now I'm Hooked!

Well... I'm Hooked. Ever since I found out the car that my dads friend had for sale was an Rx7 I've been hooked! I found this site and have been asking noob questions for the past week (sorry!)and wanted to thank everybody for there advice.

I ended up being the new owner of a 84 gsl 5 speed... ulgy tan paint however the rust covered most of it!
As soon as I saw the car for the 1st time I knew I had to buy it.

I poured over all the info I could get my hands on and after 7 nights...late nights... in a fricking cold parking garage...

I drove it today!!!

It was just around the block on snow covered roads... Ya RWD!

I have learned a ton and can say that no matter happen's to it... I'm KEEPING IT and I'll FIX IT MYSELF!

LOL. It's so much fun to snag a new 7 owner and see how quickly they get hooked on the rotary obssesion. It's better than drugs and your life will not be the same. Hopefully you have an understanding signifigant other, if not, one or the other will have to go.

Yep the body work is now moved to the top of the list. Going to try to get it up on a hoist at work and change out the exhaust system. What should I replace it with? straight? Who makes a good one? I should just search the fourm right...

Do you have to go through smog tests up there? Depends on what you're planning to do with your car.

Not a smog test. Just a safety. The system now is rusted through in a few places so it will need to be swapped to pass.

Racing Beat is the preferred choice for a complete bolt in exhaust system. However, you can get raped by the border taxes. I've heard it can add as much as 40% to the purchase price, that's a big chunk.

speaking of snagging people ... i think that I've just convinced someone at school to drop a 20b in his 240SX ... Welcome to this side of the world, the one that revolves smoothly, and doesn't bang itself in the head everytime like the other side

welcome to the dark side brother, you'll never shake the rotary addiction, but you have a lot of knowledge available to keep her nice.

I got my first seven when I was in my early 20s from a repairable place for $500. It had a dinged up fender and that was about it. 87 base with no sunroof, AC, or PS. That thing was ligh and tosable. Now, many sevens later, I am in my upper 30s and still hooked.

You will be hooked for life just as long as that first one is not a HUGE PITA that makes you swear them off for life...or a few months, just like women.

Yeah, really. Its a prerequisite that you post pics up for the members to see what the car looks like. All n00bs should at least know that even.

You'll never get over the addiction. Trust me, I tried. I sold my 7 to a friend of mine nearly 2 years ago. 2 weeks ago I bought it back.

Then sometime I'd like to paint it black to match the bike of course!
