ok the car was a BITCH to start (had to play with clutch, throttle, AND choke for 45 minutes and flooded the **** out of it) and the last time it had been driven i had driven it with NO fan belt running REALLY HOT (i.e. started to blow white smoke from exhaust) and when i pulled over and checked on it there was coolant in the intake filter from bubbling out of the coolant reservoir. these pics were taken after i ran it for 10 minutes and it was warmed up (new belts are on so are NEW NGK BR8EQ's). before we tried to start it i put carburetor cleaner (12 ounces in a 3/4 full tank) and 2 cycle oil (4 ounces) in the tank, hoping it would help. please help me here, i have no idea what the hell is wrong with it and i love this car, also should i adjust my carb so it starts better?

Dude when you ran it hot you blew your coolant seals, now water is seeping in your housings and making it hard to start, I also wouldn't doubt it if your housings/ rotors are warped. Overheating is the rotaries worst enemy...

REbuild....That's about it my friend...You are better off parking it and saving for a rebuilt. Or drive it till it dies..... Sorry for your loss... never run these cars hot. EVER!

Yes the 13b will bolt right up... You will need the gsl-se pan, and motor mount bar, plus your 12a front cover....pardon my mistyping again...I am on massive pain killers.

it would take some serious fabbing, the 13b block is longer then the 12a and the exhaust manifolds DO NOT MATCH UP, so a custom wastegate and manifold would be needed, you would be better off selling the 12a kit and buying a stock 13bT turbo and manifold and making that work....

yeah i think i might just sell both the '83 LE RX-7 and the 12A turbo kit and spend that money on a new 13B Turbo from a second gen if my 12A motor is basically gonna die. **** me dammit, i REALLY REALLY didnt need this.

If you already have a kit to hook up a 12a turbo i think you should just find another 12a then rebuild that over the winter and turbo it. Sure ya could hook it up to the 13b but you will still be fast with the 12at and with all the fab work for the 13b it will probibaly be cheaper and more simple. Just my opinion, at least what i would do.
