WTF is this

what is this little thing on the firewall that hass the vaccum line going to it, i think it has something to do with the cruise control. Its on the passenger side right above the wiring harness, i was wondering if i can remove it

car is an 85 gsl-se btw

I doubt it as my car didn't have it. It may have had something to do with the AC.

isnt it the idle advance? to compensate for the load at low rpms? i dont know im guessing.

i want to know what these little things are too, there are 4 vaccum lines total, 2 go to the lower intake manifold from the solenoid looking things (circled in pic) and the other 2 tee off into what used to be the CC unit and that other thing in the first pic i showed

i wanna know if i can remove these little things, or are they necessary

Those are the Relief Solenoid Valve and the Switching Solenoid Valve. They work in conjunction with the ACV. Look at the Haynes manual, page 274.

so your saying if the ACV has been removed then those relief solenoid valves can be removed as well?

I would assume you don't need them if your ACV isn't there. I'm no expert, though.
