If I were a millionare, I would buy every rx-7 that had a piston motor swap and put a rotary back in it.

So on that note, no I would most definitely not spend 20k on a first gen, and especially not for one with a anything other than a rotary engine.

I think he put one too many zeroes on the asking price.

Not that crossbred bastard !!! Nor would I pay 20 grand all at once for any 1st gen.

I have suspension and supercharging yet to complete and then I will be finally through...done...finis. It will all have less than 4000 miles on it except the unibody and the doors.

I am certain that I will cross that accumulated dollar amount in the Spring with some final help from Mr. Atkins.

So what the hell.

I would pay 3x that if it had a 26b in it. But cripes, everytime i'd start it, i'd nut and have to shut it off and go take a shower and let my ********* recover. I'd never be able to drive it.

I think I would pay $20g's for a brand new very well preserved 0 mile gsl-se or an american 12a turbo version (left hand drive). I don't think I desire anything else in that price range untill I get upto the RX8 level, although the FD would be tempting. That one with the FORD engine....uh....no.

Typical example of a redneck trying to get his money back out of a modded car--- it just ain't gonna ******' happen. Especially since IMHO RX7s married to anything but a rotary just weren't meant to be.

But $20,000 for a showroom condition, un-modified GSL-SE? About $5000 tops at this point in time. Ask me again in another 15 years...

Don't think I would even pay $2,000 for a swap like that. I drive a boinger for my beater, but not my cars.
