I think we all agreed a while back that you would have to re-inforce about 3/4 of the car over again, adding WAY more weight than was necessary for a costhmetic job.

so no, nobody does that i know of.

but if ur into the aesthetic value of ur car.....then i think it would look real sweet.....but if u do decide on doing that copy only that from that car......copying anything else off that car would just kill ur car

If you used a roll cage to simulate the original roof (ie. all main support structures), I could see it working.

Im sure you could do it but could you open the doors at the same time? I thought there was a blue vert that stated both doors couldnt be opened at the same time some time back.

People have discussed the possibilities of an FB vert and all the plans I've seen have looked like a big pile of crap. And also very unrealistic and uneconomical.

It's a good idea until you think about what it will actually look like, which of course is simply horrendous.

I just cant get past that someone stole the suspension off the car in the picture. the first thing I thought was " did they build the car on the grass right there cause the couldnt have driven it."

all I can say is I really hate hydrolics.

Might I suggest a T-Top. Leave a strip in the middle and reenforce it. Then maybe you wouldn't need to add as much structural support. Still, probably not a good idea unless you have no need for doors that open and close.

have you thought about a Sliding Rag, like old bugs. you get a larger opining that you would with a sunroof, and they are completly custom.

Not hydrolics. It's a lowering "kit" that holds up your car with air bags, basically. When your driving around, it's normal height. Turn your car off and it sinks to the ground, or as far as you want.

For a topless FB, go to ebay motors, search for 94-97 Miata, bid, put a 12A into it. You'll get independent rear suspension and a bolt pattern that can fit more than 5 different aftermarket wheels.
