Okay all I am new to this. I got a RX7 this past weekend that the PO could not get running. He towed it and got it to start once. When he had it started it smoked like crazy. Then the next day he went out and it started up but the cat got hot and was red.

I picked it up from him for $100.00, the body is okay and the car as a whole is not bad. I worked on it a little myself this weekend and I can get it to start and run with the choke on. Once the engine is warm it won't stay running at an idle. I can rev it up and it runs but it doesn't rev real quick. If I let it idle it dies, also if I drop the RPM's below 3000 it suges by about 3-400 RPM's.

Please help!!
Also can someone tell me about taking all the smog jumk off??

what year is your Rx-7? when i got my 79 it did some **** like that cuz the air/fuel mixture was off on the carb. it ran like a dream after that was fixed. you can find what to adjust to in a "haynes" manuel.

Cat or thermal Reactor? Sounds like a 79 or 80 They like to do that when carb is outt adj badly..
