Won't stay running, Help me out please.

I'm somewhere inbetween running out of ideas and not knowing where to start.
My car won't run for more than about ten seconds.
specs

84 GS 12a with Weber 44 IDF 71

It all started when my fuel filter got clogged. i didn't know it was clogged until i stalled out in a driveway at work.
Replaced it, drove home, the car ran crappy all the way there. rebuilt the carb when i got it homecause it was now full of crap. it hasn't run since then.
i can start it on starting fluid or dump gas down the carb, or pump the hell out of the petal. (think like 10-15 pumps)

so i dont know what to try next and was hoping that somebody here could maybe just guide me in a logical direction,
cause i'm a little frustrated and its hard for me to take a step back and think this through.

i just replaced the fuel filter again for the hell of it and i got it to run for like 20 minutes yesterday.
i got her warmed up and she started running on the front rotor only.

today she wont stay running again. i have spark, and i have the fuel pump relay bypassed for now.
with the fuel line off the carb the pump fuels plenty of fuel. it was supposedly replaced recently. (OEM)

i've pulled and cleaned the plugs idk how many times just to be sure, but they're brand new NGKs and dont even look dirty when i pull them out.

everything, to me, looks like its not getting enough fuel. any ideas, suggestions, what should i test next?

thanks in advance, and sorry for the book of a post. i wanted to be descriptive.
oh and yes i've been searching. for about 2weeks. i'm mostly a lurker so searching is my specialty.

What do you mean by "wont stay running" can you be more specific on how it's acting now. Just dies off or is it a rough stall?

it just dies off, not fast like an electrical thing, but idk how to describe it, like it runs out of fuel i guess.
it runs smooth while its goes and it just drop off, not rough at all.

Test your fuel pump, and check your fuel filter again

it dies sitting there i haven't been able to keep it running long enough to move it.

the fuel filter is clean, and flows like new i just pulled it off and checked it.
as far as checking to pump, do you mean check the pressure or just a flow per minute test?

Flow per minute, Pressure doesnt tell you overly much (unless its nonexistent) cuz of the whole garden hose concept

i may have found part of the problem, if not the whole thing, what color should premixed gas be?
mine is like a yellow-green color, and is fairly opaque. i think the 2cycle i mixed last time was a blue color so i guess that could be right.

this was the first time i pumped it out into a glass container, i couldn't see the color before. is there an easy way to dain the gas tank? i don't want to go through hell if its just bad gas.

the dark contamination was just stuff in the jar, is the white junk water? and the flash from the camera made it look more green than it really is.

Interesting...mine looks about that color as well...isn't gas supposed to be more of a brownish-red color?

well idk if the actual gas being green is a problem but i'm thinking that the white stuff in there is, i'm going to drain the tank and flush out the line again.

on a side note the haynes manual sucks, i wish i had just looked under the car a half hour ago instead in the haynes book. the book gives all the SA specs then goes back in a different section and gives the various FB specs. SAs i guess dont have a drain plug for the gas tank. i was trying to siphon the stupid gas out. grr...
oh well

That fuels looks like the Absinthe in your avatar!

That stuff in the bottom doesn't look healthy.

Did you clean all the jets and circuits while you had the carb apart?

My guess is the stuff on the bottom is water since water will sink in the gas tank..

yeah my first thought after posting the pic was it looks kinda like really cheap czech absinthe. (the czech stuff might even be the same stuff, lol, its pretty bad)

yes i cleaned everything when i rebuilt the carb main jet stacks, idle jets, choke assembly,
anything that could be stripped off and cleaned was, all the soft parts were replaced.

anyway, idk was it was but its gone now, and new gas is in, she lives. finally.

thanks for the help. i was starting to get pretty pissed. anybody know of a plastic tank that fit an FB?
i've never heard of one. i think somebody would stand to make a little money if they found/made one to fit that won't rust out.
