Wiring up ignition from scratch..??

I have a starlet that I'm putting a 84-85 12A into. The only wiring in the car is what I have wired myself which is very basic... battery, starter & fuel pump. All that's left to start this thing up is the ignition (distributor and coils). I'd like to run it stock for now just to get the thing started.

I'm off to hit the manual and look at my d/d RX for reference.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yea, it looks pretty easy. It's layed out perfectly in the haynes manual.

I figured I'd post here for help before I needed it just in case...

The only thing I'm not seeing right in front of my face when I look at the diagram is the one seperate wire that connects under the pots hanging off the distributor. It's showing 12V's when I kick the ignition into the on position on my d/d...???

Thumbs up

Noise supression for a radio right..? After taking a better look I figured that. It looks like the same little thing that bolts to the top of the block on a 2nd gen so I left it out. I don't think the car's going to get a radio, at least no time soon anyways. Good to know. Thanks.

Next task, exhaust and I should be able to fire this puppy up. It just sucks that I have two stripped exhaust manifold studs and I dropped the motor in anyways months earlier to line everything up. The frame is so close to the block I cant get the header off now without practicly pulling the motor. I don't want to put antifreeze and oil in just to crank her over only to drain it all out again in a day or two. Ugh, and I don't want to pull the motor until I'm ready to clean and paint the entire engine bay over. Anyways, thanks for listening to me think out loud if your reading this, hehe.
