Question wiring - rear wiper switch

I got a '82 gsl

freaking gremlins.. they come out when you don't expect them. When I took the center console out, the wires for the rear wiper where cut off at the switch! wtf!

i was going to cut the plug and solder the wires to the directly to the switch only thing is, I am not sure where they line up. The switch has 3 contacts. One on the bottom, and 2 up top. I figure they go with the plug thats got only 3 contacts in it. Those contacts correspond to Blue w/ white strip ; Black w/ green stripe ;and a black one.

Sooo placing the single contact on the lower part.. can someone tell me what colors they go on what side... please

Have you got a Haynes manual? They've got the schematics at the back with all of the colour codes etc. If not, I'll dig mine out and see what there is. My manal is for an '83, but I would imagine that there isn't any difference between '82 and '83 as far as wiring.

drunkclever;
I've been looking at my Rear Wiper Complete w/Brand New Motor,Wires and Rear Shock since last Summer sitting in a Box with no way to figure out how to hook it up.
In the Same Boat as You.
I've asked the same question about 10 times since then and no one will pitch in???
Maybe someone will chime in before we get old and gray.
If I ever figure it out I'll let you know.
Same on your side if you ever get a responce!!!
I own the 84 & 85 FSM and thats not much help either.

Thumbs up

Okay...I've trudged my way through the snow and dug my way into my portable garage, and pulled the switch out of my car. How's that for effort? Looking at the switch from the back, the wires are:
black on the bottom, blue with white on the right and black with green on the left.

Hey Mr. Bass;
My problem is not at the Switch
That tested perfectly.w/12Volts. and the Motor works w/those wires connected directly as per the FSM states to test it.
Issue is the 2 wires on the Strut as to where they Plug into it since there are 2 connectors that they can be plugged into the strut area either way.
Since this is all new I don't want to fry it.

Wire Colors are
Base of Strut= 1ea Black/White
= 1ea Blue/Black
Both Female Connectors

Top of Strut
1- Female Conector (Solid Black)

1- Large Female T- Conector w/ 3 Wires going to the Motor
(Easy Part)

Since there are no markings on the lower part of the Windshield
Which wire goes where on the lower strut
i.e. Black/White
Blue/Black

No biggie on the answer! But if I get lucky someone here can take a quick look at it and give me reason to get these Brand New Parts up and running.
Thanks
sgieldon
