Honestly? Get a FSM and find out what you DO have, since it seems you have a lot of missing and unconnected components. That would be my suggestion without going over an entire wiring diagram myself...

and are all these in the engine compartment?

I've noticed that during my rewiring, some of the plugs didn't have a match due to it not coming with certain features, like AC/Heater/Cold Start. But I'll try and name some that I can remember.

#2 Looks like the plug to the windshield washer bottle.
#8 Looks like the Alternator plug
#10 is a ground
#11/12/13 Some of them connects to the harness #14/15/16 connects to or to the cold start
#14/15/16 Connects to another harness
#19 I think connects to the oil level sensor

Just remember I am most likely wrong with more than half, or I might be right. Heh

Also something to note since I dont want to go through all of them. The Yellow plugs will match up with yellow plugs. Observe the wiring colors going into the plugs, this will match the other end of what plugs into it (liek black with blue stripeetc.)

since its a gsl almost everything should plug into something else unless you have removed it. for example if youve removed ac, it will plug into nothing.

You should download the wiring diagram. That said, I love a good RX-7 puzzle with my morning coffee.

1. D-02 windshield washer motor
2. C-10 windshield washer level sensor
3. X-08 connector between front harness and right engine harness
4. K-06 Cruise control actuator solenoid valve
5. X-07 connector between front harness and right engine harness
6. G-07 AC switch in dash (frost warning temp switch)
7. B-04 Trailing Igniter
8. B-03 Leading Igniter
9. B-05 Condenser on Dist.
10. A-16 Alternator
11. A-04 plugs in here Hot start assist motor
12. K-08 Power Steering control solenoid
13. G-10 to AC relay harness
14. B-29 To Transmission harness
15. X-10 To Transmission harness (Auto )
16. X-09 To Transmission harness (Manual)
17. E-28 Retractable headlight
18. C-07 Coolant level sensor (top of radiator)
19. B-15 #2 Water Temperature switch (bottom of radiator)
20. Early model distributor with out the attached igniters
21. ?Wiring from the early model distributor?

You need a late model distributor with the igniters attached like this. Spider webs add 10 HP

wow thanx, 74RX4

so what if i use this early style distributor and use fc coils, that i have that have the ignitors built in? since the dist i have doesnt have ignitors?

so what is the harness that plugs in by the firewall?
#3 and #5?
do i need that?

seems like the only thing i really need is to hook up the alternator and the dist?
is there any other plug that plugs into the alternator other then #10?

I think FC igniters are totally different that SA igniters. There is a harness that connects to the sensors etc. on the right side of the engine. These plugs connect to it. #5 X-07 is mostly emission control stuff. #3 X-08 is oil idiot light, emissions and alternator. You're probably going to need some of the wires in each plug. One of the wires going through #3 X-08 is a BW wire from the ignition switch to the BW wire at the alternator.

Read the FAQ for links to manuals. Also if your going to reuse those connectors they will need to be cleaned (contacts corroded).

FSM and wiring diagrams at

#17 might be G-05 No.1 AC relay if its near the brake master. Does it have 4 wires? I'm guessing the distributor is from a 1980 RX-7.

I might have one for you ... PM me if interested ...

1&2 - washer
5 - emmision hook up
6 - AC hook up
7&8 - Igniter Hook up
10 - is that hooked up to the alternator? If so would hook up to the positive side of the battery
11 - Hot start
17 - Turn signal light / Or side marker light.
18 - Radiator Water level
19 - Bottom of radiator sensor (emmision stuff)

From what I can tell atleast ...
