Wires on hatch shock

Ok im working on fixing my rear wiper. near where the rear hatch connects to my car theres are 2 wires with plugs on the end, and 1 spot to plug it onto my car. Where does the other one go? I have 3 wires, one comming from rear defroster, then those 2 that run down the shock and connect the motor to somethign else. Anyone know where my other conection point it?

Is it possible that you have a wiring harness for a rear wiper and you don't have a rear wiper on the car? Just a thought.. Hard to tell without pics.

Connection for the two wires running up the hatch strut go to a connection on the trim on the passenger side triangle window. You'll see two blades poking out for the connection. Third wire connects the bottom defrost tab as you've already discovered.

Side question: Can you still get new shocks with the rear wiper wires? Or regassing was mentioned where do you get that done at?

On the passenger side, on the plastic trim piece that goes around the hatch strut mount, there are two rectangular holes next to the round hole where the mounting bolt goes for the hatch strut. There should be two electrical connections one for positve and one for negative.

If you only see one connection, you may have to disconnect the hatch strut and remove the trim piece to verify if the electrical connection is broken or missing.

Get new struts at either Advance Auto Parts or PepBoys in the US... Sold under teh brand name "StrongArm"...

Take your old one with the wiring connection on it... Unscrew the tip of the old strut adn slide the wiring connections off. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly...

If you can't unscrew the old one, just cut the tip off. You should be able to unscrew the tip on the new one though.

I'll check mine tonight when I get home from work but I'm pretty sure there should be two connections on the trim. If yours is broke, hit me up, I may have a spare and if not, I'll take the trim out of my own car for you.
