MAke sure the motor is getting enough power. If it is then you have to replace the motor. Or it could just be the arms siezing up

ok so should i try to re wire the motors to ensure the have proper ground and power?

or just replace them cause i got 2 parts car but i havent tryed the wipers on either of them. i would try them but its a pain in the *** to drive 20 mins out of town just to get to the junk yard to check wiper motors:s

I'd just try all new wires if in fact it's not getting enough power

i am having the same problem and sometimes they stop half way but going down they are fine......i tryed putting them in the up postion (like you do what you wash the windshield) and they worked perfect so i think my problem is the lack of power so i will try this too...

since it happened i just stoped driving on rainy days.......and keep a shoe string in my car incase i get caught in rain because like i said they work fine going down but go REALLY slow and usally stop half way when coming up so i tie that string to the drivers side wiper arm and pull on it let them go down wait untill i see them trying to come back up and pull the string again...hahahaha

Yeah either the motor is getting enough power or it's dying. I went through 2 wiper motors

It's pretty hard for a motor to not get enough power. Maybe if your connections are bad, but I don't think that's likely. More likely is that the grease in the the gear casing is drying out (although that isn't too likely since it's sealed) or one or both of the arms are seizing up. I had one that was completely rusted solid, so I took everything apart, freed it up (after about 3 days of PB Blaster soaking and a big hammer), cleaned everything really good, and greased everything. Works like a champ now. The motor COULD be going bad as well, and that wouldn't be that unusual, but I'd check the arms first.

Same thing on mine. I PBblasted the the Arm swivel and used the two locking nuts to tighting down the box end of a small wrench to rotate the inner shaft. works great now.

i had a similar problem on my VW, ended up being the wiper linkage, it was all rusty and shot to hell, put the new part in, works like new, motor is fine.

if the motor is gone, it would just be gone usualy

altho checking the connectors would probably help as well

Yes, the linkage is probably seized. I had the slow/no wiper problem too. I took it all out and cleaned and sprayed lithium grease on all the pivot points and worked it till it was nice and free. No problems since. It was a half day project, and well worth it.

Mine did the same thing and it turned out to be a mouse house that was pinched in the linkages. Removed it, and everything works find since.
