If you're asking about a 1st Gen, no you shouldn't. When I bought mine, I wanted new wipers (the entire unit, not just the rubber insert) on it, but no auto parts store I went to offered its stock size. Only thing they offered was a blade that was about 1" inch smaller. *shrugs* I've had no problem with them, they went on with ease, and what with how small in height the windshield is, I still get a good cleaning with them.

So, no, you should have no problems buying wipers for your 1st Gen.

I suggest you purchase Bosch wiper blades. It's what I bought and they come with different adapters to help ensure a good fit. You could try Trico as well, but I'm not sure how they look in terms of attaching. But, I got Bosch and like I said, they come with 3 different adapters to to match what your car requires, and yes the correct adapter is inside for the Rex. Basically a universal blade in mounting, but they work! Been on since last March and not one problem. Actually, for that long, I swear the blades still act like new. Or the tension on the wiper arms themselves are too tight.
