Wiper questions

A couple questions about the wipers:

How are the plastic socket parts in wiper linkage ball joints held together? (It looks like they were glued) How do you re-assemble them and where can you get replacements?

Next question how do you align the motor and linkage before installing it? They seem to be out of phase i.e. when turning on the wipers they start moving down first, so that the blade has to be parked in vertical instead of horizontal. Tried moving the first linkage after the motor to the opposite side but no success. Is there a way to reset what the park position is? Thanks.

OK solved the alignment problem don't know why it took 3 tries. (Turn wipers on, then off, to park motor. Then loosen screw attaching the first linkage arm to the motor. Align linkage so that first and second arms are in a straight line (or close to it) and then re-tighten the motor nut).

Still looking for the plastic ball joint sockets but drilling through the ball and inserting screw with 2 nuts on the end seems to work.

The dealer can only sell the whole linkage arms as a unit with the plastic parts installed in it already.

It runs about a 100 bucks.

Sucks I know.

There are no FB in salvage yards around here so that is not an option. It's back together for now, and next time I have it out I will look through some catalogs for bolt-on ball and socket joints.
