There was a guy at the OGTA meeting Tuesday night with a whole pocket full of those nuts Fred. He's going to be at DGRR too, if you're headed up that way.

Anyway, the nut is a metric 14mm nut with course threads fitting an 8 mm thread. But they don't sell those at hardware stores.

Looks like something you might find in the electrical section. Don't they use thin nuts like that on electrical conduit pipes like in a breaker box? I'm sure I've seen something like that there.

Oh, it's a thin bolt? That may be harder to find then.

Here's a couple photos, the nut is a couple mm smaller than a dime. If you can't find something let us know, we'll make sure there's some at DGRR

I will go out and check mine to verify the thread pitch, but I think its the 2.0 shown in the example.

Well I'm glad I checked cause I was wrong, the size is 8mm x 1.25 thread pitch.
Thats actually a common size so Im thinking the hardware store will prob have it. If not here is the proper example, (rather than the screwed up one I gave before) :

I thought he was talking about the ones under the plastic pieces. Hell 8 x 1.25mm is available just about anywhere. You probably have some from a trip to the junkyard and not even know it
