winter storage good enough?
Hello all, love the site, love the informed opinions and facts...I put my SE into winter storage after reading some of the guides and how to's here. I always used MMO or similar in my previous 12A engined cars and just dumped it down the carb while cranking the engine without ignitors or fuel pump operating. This time, I've got EFI so I tried to pull a large rubber tube up on the intake to introduce pennzoil marine fogging oil, but as soon as I pull the tube, the engine dies. So I decided to crank the engine with ignitors unplugged and fuel pump fuse out and trailing plugs out to introduce the oil into my housings that way(through the plug holes). Well, I can't find a fuse for the pump, but I did find a two wire harness that runs into the floor of the car underneath the drivers' side luggage compartment appr. above the fuel pump. The car wouldn't run with this plug disconnected, so did I find the proper way to shut off my fuel pump? Also, whenever I tried to spray the oil into T. plug holes, I don't think anything went in with all the pulses shooting out of the holes. Should I remove all plugs for this? Also some here say not to use MMO or ATF because it is too hard on your internal rubber. Is pennzoil marine fogging oil safe for internal rubber parts? Will it also keep the carbon in there from hardening up, or is this oil only to prevent rust inside? As always, your thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated!
the 2 wire connector behind the drivers seat that goes through the grommet in the floor is the fuel pump wiring. as far as winterizing goes, i have always used light viscosity motor oil i.e. 10 or 15w. a little down the intake, a few cranks of the starter and forget about it until spring. i usually run it just about out of fuel and throw some fuel stabilizer/water displacer in the tank.

The trailing plugs have a very very tiny hole, just big enough for the spark to work in due to their location in the rotor cycle.
The leading plugs are the ones you want to pull, they have a much larger hole in the housing which makes spraying something in actually possible.
When I put my cars away, I fogged them and turned the engine over just by pulling on the belts. Once I hear about 12 wooshes from the spark plug holes, I put the plugs back in, and Im good to go. Was the easiest way for me since I had already taken the batteries out.

For the SE, you can pull the egi fuse from the engine bay fuse block, and the engine fuse from under the dash, this will disable spark and fuel. I would the introduce the fogging oil through one of the vacuum hoses on the dynamic chamber.
Before doing this, fill up the fuel tank and add Sta-bil, let the engine run for a bit so it goes through the entire fuel system. MMO is fine, I wouldn't use atf for storage, only for decarbonizing badly carboned up engine.
