windows fog after 4 days or so

Im having a problem with my windows fogging. I smoke in the car maybee 2 times a day with the windows down. After 4 days or so windows seem to fogg or have a haze on emm. i have never had this kind of problem with my other vehicles. I can't see any moisture anywhere. It has no smell like it wold be a heater core. If its a leak would have to be a small one. was wondering if any smoker have this kind of problem. The cabin comparment is really small and window pretty close, was just wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Try not smoking and see what happens. Maybe the car does not like the smoke.

Is it like a fog mist that wipes off like water, or does it seems to stick to the glass and smear? If it is the first, check for leaks, dampness, bad door seals, and plugged sunroof or hatch drains. If it is the second, check for wet carpet in the passenger side, under the heater core.

Also check for wet carpet in the hatch area. Mine gets a haze but not that quick. Smokin in the car does it.

ever think it's just trapped heat(damp air) ..you smoke with the windows down too..my other car condensates too..I just carry a roll of paper towel in the car.to put your mind at ease ..check your coolant.another thing..paper towel will tell you if it is coolant..it will be discolored..and the windshield will feel "greasy"..(where's JOE?..lick the windshield.I liked that...haha)

Yeah, if there is a leak in the heater core then it will mist coolant onto the windsheild and leave a really nasty fog/haze. Do you ever smell coolant when the heater is running?

Most of the first gens have holes below the rear bins. This allows for water and moisture to kick up inside them. I notice my windows fog up a great deal too.. especially when its raining. Our cars are old. Worn window seals and door seals dont help matters either. I sometimes carry a rag to wipe it down. Good luck on finding your problem.

ps mostiure will stick to any dirt on glass.. becuase u smoke that is contributing to it.

Mine fogs too. I smoke only with the windows down, have no leak in heater valve or core, or rear hatch. I rarely drive the car, and just sitting for a couple of days in the summer sun it gets sort of a fog on the front window. The car is summer driven only, so its not condensation either.

I found that if I keep the vents closed, put the heater on RECIRC before turning the car off, it takes weeks for the fog to come back. Turns out its just the dust in the outside air coming through the vents and sticking to the windshield by static.

The other thing I forgot to mention is, what are you guys using for vinyl dressing? Those of you who detail your cars and use, say a lot of Amourall, you will get a film. The vinyl and the dressing will out gas and cause the film/fog. Though most of our dashes should be done out gassing by now, too much dressing can do the same thing.

If the car gets to sit outside and sun bathe during the day and freeze it's lug nuts off at night, you will get more film on the inside of the windshield than if the car is garaged most of the time. That's due to the heating/cooling evaporation cycle that occurs in the car. The windows cool qiucker and any vapor in the cabin condenses on the inside of them first.

Dude, it's the smoke. Try smoking outside, like, not in the car, see if it happens.

ok theres no smell; no discoloration when cleaning the windows; no wet carpets on either side; i didnt smoke in it for couple days and it seamed to come back, little slower maybee. if i turn the heater to cool this will **** of the valve on the pasanger side right? And if it stops fogging would mean its my heater core and vise versa. so ill stop smoking in it for awhile.. and no i just smoke ciggs hehe

i told my girl to stop smoking in her 81 gsl-se and the mist went away a little but mainly why it keeps fogging up in the front window and the rear hatch and the doors .was the fact the car has old seals all around which isnt to bad for something being 25 years old. atleast the damn thing still runs!! thats all that matters lol. another thing i noticed her power windows dont go all the way up to fully up to make a full seal with the top of the window seal.so there is like a small hairline crack between the window and the window seal. id say seals man check them all.

i dont have this problem with my 2nd gen......
