windows broke how do put another one in
hi, i just replaced my window the other day. it was really easy. these are the steps involved as long as you have the new window.
1.) Depending on the year you have, the door panels will vary a bit, but they usually consist of pulling screws out of the handle and other various places.
2.) Once you have pulled ALL the screws out, you should be able to pop the door panel outwards, as there are clamps that hold the panel to the door but pop in and out.
3.) Then simply pull the panel upwards over the door lock.
4.) From here there is usually a plastic piece sealed on with an epoxy, just be careful when removing it. If you remove it all, it will be much easier to install the window.
5.) Now, look through one or more of the holes in the metal and move your window up and down until you can see the top of the window regulator. There may still be some window left on it (did the glass actually break?) Pull of the remaining window (if any) and clips (if any).
6.) Now you can put in the new window from the OUTSIDE, working it down until it is in place with the holes on the top of the regulator. You will have to angle the glass to get it to fit down in there.
7.) Replace the bolts that hold in the window (you will have to move the regulator for each hole) and VIOLA!!! Instant window replacement.
*One thing that really helped me when i put my new regulator and window in was to pop off the other door panel to see how it should be.
I dont know if you actually needed all this info, or just the main idea, but, whatever, i didnt have anything better to do. GOOD LUCK!
