Yeah or the mechanism could be sticking. Try taking the door panel off and spraying some WD-40 in it

you might need to take off the door panel and adjust/inspect the rails that the glass rides up on.

You need to clean and relube the tracks for the rollers. Also make sure the felt in the tracks is still in place, in particular the lower front one.

If the linings are in good shape, you can glue them, good luck getting them back out. VB carrys new ones, along with the dealer.

Lightbulb Power Window Problem

If the windows go up and down smoothly when they do work chances are your window switches are going bad and are working intermittently. I had the same problem on my 85 (drivers side window, passenger worked fine.) I replaced the power window switches and my windows work fine. It could be binding or a window regulator problem, but don't overlook the simple things like switches.

I had the same problem it would get stuck on the felt, so I sprayed silicone on them and I haven't had a problem since.

a likely culprit are the nylon rollers..they tend to disentergrate over the years..the fixes mentioned are temporary as mine do the same thing..you may want to check out VB or Mazdatrix for the scissor mechanism (affordable)and new motors (expensive), should you want to really fix the issue
Cheers

realistically

In actual fact it can be all these things. Your motor seems to work fine and by the sounds of it your switches work, the glass is just binding. It could be that your motor is weak, the track and beads need some lube which will lighten the load on the motor. Next check the rails at the front and back, does one side seem to be bunging up first (front/Back) if so then start looking at that side first. There isnt any ajustment in the window assembly so it wont be an issue really.
