Will FC seats swap into an FB?
Will FC seats swap into an FB?
Just curious:
I intend to replace the (worn and broken backrest adjustment) red leather seats in my '85 with a set from the wreckers. There are none currently available in the local yards, and the replacements don't have to be leather. But they do have to be reasonably ok shape, red and bolt straight in.
Can anybody confirm if the ones from an FC (should those be the only ones available) will or will not bolt directly into the existing mounts on the FB?

Yep, FC seats are basically a bolt in mod. You need to use the FB right side rail on the drivers seat, but that's the only tweak.
I have a set of GX seats in my SA, and they're a massive improvement over the crappy no-bolster SA/FB seats.

BTW, since no seats are currently available at the wreckers, this weekend I intend to pull out the drivers' seat and dis-assemble to find out why the seat's most up-right position is now reclined at a 50-degree angle.
It seems the first positions (bolt up-right and one or two notches back) no longer work. As a result, I'm slumped way down in the seat and my arms are getting stretched from having to reach for the wheel and shifter.
Before I do this, has anyone else had this issue with their seats and if so, was it fixable?
