Ok well i am just wondering if a nikki carb from a 1985 will fit perectly onto an 82' GS? Is there anything that i need to change...or nothing will change at all..its direct bolt on?

 

It'll fit, but I don't know how well the emissions controls will match up. I've never worked on an '85 carb, so I don't know if it has more junk hanging off it or not. If you're not concerned about emissions, now's a good time to remove the rats nest/air pump.

 

85 carb will bolt on and yes there are more emissions things. The one you will notice first is the 2 vac lines on top and it will have an orange "rats nest" style plug connected to it (in the 85 obviously not your 82). You can either plug the vac holes or swap the top metal piece (from your 82) of the carb to get rid of it. I hope that makes some sense
