Will anyone get a blow through turbo tutorial for 12a?

I have searched and found many helpful things such as the shopping list from coldy and a brief description, but will anyone give me a detailed description of how to do this in order from start to finish, listing all parts needed and where to get them. plus every tool used in process and a guestimate on total price when done.
thanks any questions on what it is i need please ask and all help is appreciated.

Over $2,000. There is a write-up, not sure who did it but. Search for this ( 12a Turbo Write-up ). Good luck!

No offense, but if you need this much help you are probably better off taking your car to somebody who knows what they are doing.

Over $2,000? I really doubt that unless you are overpaying for parts or not doing much work yourself. I've got everything priced out right now for my setup, and including a $300 clutch, it will be about $900 without shipping. I will be doing a very bare-bones turbo setup, no inercooler or bov, only whats needed. I will also be using a nikki carb that's modded for boost. Once I do mine I'll make a very detailed writeup of how I did everything.

I too have been pricing and come in right about 1k for intercooler and BOV. I too will have no troubles doing a write up when I am done.

Don't worry about it. If you need more help, talk to Robert, www.rotaryshack.com He's the one helping me out and I'll be getting most of my parts from him. He'll also be doing the dizzy and modding the nikki carb for me.

My biggest worry now is having to drive my brothers '86 Jetta while I'm installing the turbo It's a great car for reliability, well over 350k on engine, still running very strong. The enigne has NEVER had any repairs on it, never been opened up at all. It's crazy how reliable that thing is. It's slow, looks like ***, and it smells bad if the windows are left up for too long, but at least it's a 5speed, and it'll get me around until I'm finished with the 7.

Yes.

To all please don't take my comments in the wrong context. When putting to gether my turbo setup I had MANY technical questions "Which part is better than the other" "What needs to be done to prep a carb", not "Will I need a 12mm socket to do this".

I feel that the majority of the people on this board have a fairly high mechanical apptitude. So when I see somebody asking about the tools required to accomplish modifications that require a little more skill than the ability to chage one's oil, it brings into the questions the individuals mechacnical apptitude.

If you lock the distributor you should weld the advance mechinisim with the advance weights in the fully extended (advanced) position. Weld the weights fully extended, that way if the welds break you will not have an engine killing advance in the timing. This "temporary" solution is usually more of a permenant modification.

I just wanted to know if i needed any special parts to order. I plan on doing this on my own with help from people who have done it on here. Let me know if you get that tutorial done coldy13. If anyone has one now i'd appreciate the help even if its not too specific, it'll get me started.

Is there any way to modify the stock distributor to retard timing on boost?

Perhaps you can rework the vacuum advance pots... I dunno.. Seems like there's a market for this kinda info...
