Question will a 84 AT muffler fit a 85 5-spd?

A friend offered me a muffler off an 84 12A with a manual transmission to use on my 85 12A 5-speed. They look the same but the 84 has some sheets of metal that looks like it is designed to protect the pipe. But basically the question is will it work with my 85 manual transmission?

Thanks

Yeah that should work out okay. Those metal sheets are heat shields.

I picked up the muffler and it seems like it's in good condition...no rattleing in the muffler and the pipe has a nice tone when you strike it not a thud. I'm looking to have it installed this week.
