7 inch wide rims will fit

anything with a 2.9" sidewall will be close to stock tire size,

so like a 205/35 will work..
a rubber band would be a little smaller... but not much

Yeah i also want to know if you can put 18's on a 1st gen. I was told by one of the fitters at ozzy tyres here in AUS that i could put these 18" rims with 22mm adapters. Does anyone know if ders any truth to this?????

^^^You can fit 18"s but won't be able to lower your car at all really. my mate has FR18"s for his S3 but he has coilovers on the front. They fitted on another mates S3 but only just clearance between spring and tyre was about 1mm!!

first off those wheels are fugly...ahhh as per 18's I believe that 18's will fit on the rear...I know there was a member not long ago put a set of 18's on the back and 17's on the front...I know for pretty much a fact that 18's will not fit on the front there just isn't the room with the suspension set up you would get some serious rubbage...!!
