Wideband

Hey

When installing a wideband with a racing beat street port exhaust system, does it matter which side of the exhaust you put it in?

Thanks

I install the sender in the rear header pipe since it tends to run hotter and the rear apex seals fail more often than the front ones do. If your header collects, you can install it at the wye. Another option is to buy an extra bung and plug, then you can collect readings from each rotor, one at a time, for precise tuning. There are dual band afr units, much pricier, but that makes tuning easier by eliminating the need to keep swapping the O2 sensor.

Place the O2 sensor 6-12" from the engine between the 10 to 2 o'clock position. That can be tricky since the exhaust pipe runs tight to the floor pan. Tis the wiring well away from the header to protect it from the heat or wrap the headers.

i put mine way back where the 2 pipes y on the streetport system from racing beat, i cant isolate from r1/r2 readings but works fine for a couple years now for tuning my ida 48, i just make sure both barrels are tuned the same and then adjust just slightly richer for r2
