anyways, i think 60 is the best aspect ratio for our cars (my opinion) ... 70's are tall enough to allow more movement than i care for (under REALLY hard conditions) and 50 is like having no tire at all. (and for the record, i've seen 50's get ripped off a rim once, too, so it has little to do with sidewall - it's more if the tire is old or if it simply under-inflated for that width rim - again, my opinion)
as far as width, on 5.5 or 6.0 inch rims, with no body mods ... i go with 205 all around. wider rims (without altering the offset) will rub in front.

my ride has wide rubber. 225/45/13 and 13x8 rims i drove it on the street and combination of my aggressive alignment and the wide tires did make it darty and want to follow grooves and the crown of the road, but it was manageable and not a bear.
cornering power far outweighed that. handeled on rails.
sumitomo used to make some 215/50/13 HTRZ model tires that would work with that rim.
yeah current trends is for tall 16+" rims and 40- series tires so the choice is up to you. any profile less than 50 does make for a harsh ride and it's easier to curb a wheel

Yu can go too wide on your tires. I used the Yokahama 509 stock 205-60-14" but after these were deleted switched to 539 pattern 195-60-14" anf found a slight improvement in handlng.
The point to remember is the actual width may be different from the designation, the 195 measures only 4mm smaller rather than the 10mm of the designation, and the height is 57% of the nominal width so in practice ending up a 55 series tire.

Anybody ever run Sumitomo HTR-200's? I'm looking into getting these (I have snow tires, so I'm not worried about winter traction), but they come in 6 different 13 inch sizes, so i'm having trouble deciding which to go with. Right now I'm torn between the 175/70's, the 185/60's, and the 195/60's. Anybody have any thoughts? Or, if you have any other suggestions for tires, I'd appreciate those too (for the stock 13x5.5 rims). Thanks.
