So my 200,000 mile 12A has been smelling fairly bad lately. Like super rich or something.

The carb has been rebuilt 10k miles ago
It has mechanical secondaries
Catless exhaust with RB headers and magnaflow muffler



You can smell the carb from inside the car anytime the secondaries open up and everyone who follows me would rather die. It doesnt smoke and im getting great gas mileage and the carb is tuned.

Any ideas?

 

so you are saying it smells really gassy? because if its running super rich thats the smell it should be. And gas mileage would be affected...

 

im getting about 25-27 mpg so thats why im confused. ill try leaning it out more

 

could you have an exhaust leak? I know i have an exhaust leak right at the reactor so sometimes u can actually see the exhaust coming in the passenger side... im prolly not the right one to be diagnosing carb/gas problems lol

you probably have some sort of exhaust leak somewhere.
