sounds to me like your igniton switch might be going bad...

does the starter still work? check the connectons on the starter to makke sure they arent loose, also look at the wires to make sure the insulation didnt get rubbed through or anything. Now might be a good time to replace the battery cable to the starter if yours is still stock, the aluminum cable they used is JUNK.

did you look to see if something is shorting out at the starter? you can also take the starter off (two bolts, main battery cable, and a spade) and have it tested at autozone.

If it is your ignition switch you do not need a new key tumbler, just the switch. you pull the steering surround off and there is one screw that holds the switch (opposite side from the key) to the tumbler. You could also just try to pull it off and clean it.

As for the battery cable i think most parts stores would carry them, but im not sure. I relocated mine to the rear bin and my uncle gave me a HUGE piece of massive cable im going to use. Keep us posted.

The starter selenoid is a good candidate, a common failure point on our starters.
