Why Coilovers?

Yeah, it just makes me sad to see these guys putting those high rates on, then not being to drive the car on the street at all. And in truth, for autocross at least, while they're skipping across small ripples and stuff in the turns I'm putting down better traction and getting through faster.
I've only driven my car on the track one time, and that was for an autocross. I was still on racing beat springs and street tires, but it was a lot of fun. I'd like to try the new setup and some Hoosiers on a decent track this year...

Coilovers are great for the street imo. I had some stiff *** tiens on my lancer. it helped tume the suspention just right, and then i just left them alone. the only downfall was with the added traction they gave me over the stock struts. I blew up my cv axles the first week. but that just made me more confident in my choice to spend 1200 on some coilovers. and the axles only ended up costing 60 each. with the stock suspention I could burnout half way through 3rd before catching traction in a fwd.
well long story short if you buy coilovers you won't be disapointed. espessally if your running a short spring stock strut. short springs are a waist of money w/o coilovers
