Rear window ? (searched)
Is there anyway to get the rear window to close a little more? Im not getting a good seal around it. The seal itself looks pretty good (no real signs of wear/cracks/etc), its just kinda flat and not sealing at some points.
Also, the headliner is coming out at the top of the back window, anyway to fix this?

Thanks, Ill take a look at that and see what I can do. As you can see, the seal itself looks good, its just not sealing all the way around.
Anyone with an idea of what I can do with the headliner?

Yes, I adjusted the two screws holding the latch itself to the lowest point possible for it to still work. Hopefully this will help with my seal.
On the headliner, it looks like there should be something for it to clip into along the back window but there is not. Is anyone elses doing this along the back? How do you fix it?

Latch on the body can be adjusted so far down it won't catch the hatch pin. You will need to remove the rear trim to get to it.
Small plastic buttons snap the headliner into the roof. Double sided tape is used to help hold the edge up. You are missing a rubber corner molding trim piece that should be glued to the rear edge of the headliner.

K, 74RX4 is the first one to get hatch adjustment right, that's taken care of. The headliner in the rear has plastic clips embedded in the fiberboard under the fabric. These often break when removing the headliner, sometimes they just give up. Mine is the same way since I haven't replaced the clips and the rubber trim doesn't support the liner enough to stay up.
Pull the liner down a bit and you can see the plastc pins. They are similiar to the ones that hold the vertical carpet to the bin shells.

Yes, I saw them in there. They seem to be holding pretty well. What seems to have happened is the headliner is kinda bending due to old age, sun, etc in the back and there is nothing to hold it up against the roof. It looks like there would be a seam to slide the back into, or as R4 said, some type of mounlding that keeps it from falling down.

Can you take a pic of this rubber trim piece? I dont think I have one. All I have is the rubber seal for the back glass. Know where I can get one of these? Black dragon and Mazdatrix does not have it, unless I just overlooked it.

IMO just cuz the seal doesnt have any cracks doesnt make it a good seal. If its flat like you say then this would be the culprit. The latch mechanism hasnt changed over the years or been messed with so why would it need to be now. The rubber seal on the other hand has been doing its job for quite some time as the window is down 99% of the time which is why the seal is flat. Mess with the latch all you like, but if it were me id buy a nice fresh new seal then see if the problem still persists.

Yes Brandon, I lowered the latch itself, if it dont help, Ill have to spring for the seal itself. Its pretty expensive though, so I though I would see what I could do with the latch first.
Any idea on the headliner? Need that trim piece I think.
