Can anyone explain why they think this car is so ugly? (Other than the color?)
I think it is a good imitation of the Ferrari F50 while still holding the characteristics and spirit of the rx7.
I think that it would be a good candidate for 20b, that and a good paint job and it would be one killer rx!
Just a n00bs opinion.

I like the look from the front, and usually I would hate that rear wing, but if it was any smaller, I think it would look nasty. I would not put any of the body work on my car, but its better than alot I have seen.

I don't really think that anyone hates it at all...as a matter of fact I don't think that anyone has ever stated that they hate the design of the car. I'm all up for modding a car so long as it keeps some of its original characteristics...and as long as no one turns a rex into a ricer mobile with like stickers of parts they don't own...and like plastic spinners hubs from wal-mart or even any type of spinners for that matter I think those are the only type of car that anyone hates.

No body hates that car.....? It has been around for ages. I remember seening the build up pics at MRU way back in the day. MRU changed into A-spec. Anyhow that car must have been built back in the earily 90's.
Everybody I think gets tired of being asked about it, there has never really been too much info on it. But from what I can remember I was told the body had 10G's invested into it.
I was told that he was doing rebuilds at the end of every year. It has a giant turbo from what I remember. Doctor owed.

Nobody hates the car, but in the old days almost every n00b who wanted a body kit would post those pictures and ask where they could get a kit like it. Then we'd have to explain that it was a custom job.
Before long, that got tiresome and instead of explaining, we'd just cuss out the n00bs and hope they never returned.
At least, that's what I did.

I hate that car. Not a huge fan of the big Supra spoiler. I think it killed off the classic lines of the SA/FB. The front bumper is "ok." Of course, this is only one man's opinion...

I qualify as older and I don't hate it at all either. The RX-7's original styling is great, but from the beginning there was a problem with traction on the narrow tires, with insufficient room to fit bigger ones. Even in the early 80's we added fender flares and body panels to cover the tires, along with wings, air dams, etc. to improve the handling and aerodynamics.
It can be tricky to make major changes and keep the car looking attractive. The purple car retains the basic lines, and if anything it resembles a Porsche 944 of approximately the same era. IMHO it looks very good aesthetically although the color and wing are not my favourites.

The wing is a bit much, but seems more acceptable since it has been molded into the body of the car rather than just slapping it on there with tape and screws. In its time, the wing was probably a bit cooler, but is extreme compaired to what is acceptable now. I think back then, the only car with a Supra spoiler was a Supra, now you see them on Civicsand Cavaliers...ew.

By the way, is this car still around? I tend to go for looks that are derived from racing history or are classic for my mods. The purple thing is, well, a mutation gone a bit too far IMO w/ the Supra wing which DATES IT. That’s all. Lines are very nice from an artist point of view.

i personnally like the job done on the car... even the rear end ... and spoiler ... i would agree that the colour has got to be changed (BLACK ALL THE WAY) and some dark tint on the glass to follow along the body. Does anybody know who did that body work on the car? Or who owns it? contact?
