2.5" mandrel bend exhaust glass pack, one straight through muffler - 130.00
FPR-85.00
Weber IDA carb - 300.00
Float for IDA carb - 150.00

This is the total for just the parts under the hood. I have gauges and upgraded the ignition and a few other mods that can be found in the sig.

He said "what it cost ya" not what its going to cost
It was a japanese yahoo auction site. no one else bid on it. got lucky.
These are pictures from the auction. It looks like junk but the turbo had no play and the rest just needed cleaned and painted. I got it all for 15000 yen at the time equalled about $137.00. I had to sell the intake manifold because it had the carb turned the wrong way for what I was planning.
I'll put up some new pictures of the engine bay in about a week. everytime I take a picture I do something else to it and its not recent. So hopefully next week it will be nearly complete in the enginebay. Then to start on the body

I bought the turbo and manifold for $350

fuel pump $100
fuel pressure regulator $85
carb $140
carb hat $70
This is all a good deal too though, and used once. I did get this from Gregs.

dang.. that was a good deal. I know where I can get a complete kit for ~500 but that doesn't include the small stuff that goes along with custom anything. exhaust being a big role. That and I'd still be limited with the 12a. I'm still swinging back and forth on whether to sink the turbo kit into the 12a or wait just a little while longer and go all out. right now I'm waiting. Tomorrow I may change my mind lol

Yeah, shutup kid.
I built mine all myself. It's running great right now here's the specs on it:
1985 GS, Metallic Blue
Streetport 12a, mild intake ports, race exhaust ports
TII turbo and exhaust manifold
2.5" Custom stainless exhaust
2 TII intercoolers(cut 2 endtanks off, weld cores together)
Weber 48DCO-SP carb
Custom 1.5" Aluminum Tube Intake Manifold
Mallory RPFPR
Tockico Illumina Struts
ST Springs
RB Front sway bar
TII Alternator
Ceramic 6puck sprung hub clutch
Double sprung pressure plate
Clutch pedal still just as light as stock, but has quick engagement
Bosch EFI fuel pump
MSD 6a ignition
13x7" Diamond Racing Wheels
205-60-13 Bridgestone COMP T/A R1 Tires
Drain plug on tank is now the 7/16" fuel pickup
I'll have the GSL rearend on in a few days
I probably forgot a couple small things, but that's basically it. The car is running very good now, handles great and is fast. It feels like it'll hit Mid-Low 13's easily. I've got some of the almost complete engine bay pics here- http://www.cardomain.com/id/coldy13 since those pics I added a huge K&N air filter with a custom adapter piece, and I rebuilt the clutch master cyl, new slave cyl, and stainless line on the way. Damn thing went out the minute I tried to drive it after I put in the new suspension. I'll try to make a video of my car or at least get some new pics up soon. The car didn't cost me all that much to build. So far I have $3800 total into it including buying the car.

if you have some decent motor knowledge, mainly ROTARY knowledge... then you should be OK. initially, if i had actually had all my parts at one time then i could have done my turbo setup in 2 days. but it's alllllwaaaayyyys parrtts. hahahaha, part of the game though. better have some patience.

When doing a Turbo upgrade....Engine should be at least rebuilt.... AND PORTED. 12a's are high compression... therefore you have to port them ....
this helps them breath easier.... and dont end up blowing a seal.

im rebuilding my engine and doing an extended port... im working on purchasing a turbo from an s4 , im using a 48 ida webber , for the 12a i dont think you can realy buy a turbo manifold can you ? so im going to have to have one made or modify my current header well prety much just use the 12a flange thats on it, then measure up the size of the flange for the turbo to bolt on.
i havent mentioned many other essential parts... but in time

With the Ida you shouldnt have a big clearance issue with a turbo so just get the s4 turbo and manifold oblong the holes and make it work. I might have a connection on a carb hat and float but its going to be really expensive $$$.

so i've got a 12a and i was also looking into turbo's. What's brands are you using, and where did you get them? I've got 80K original miles on my car. I've got the weber 45Dcoe carb, would that be good for a turbo? what kind of intake would i need to get? I know alot of you say to search, but i'm in the military and don't really have alot of time to sit on my computer, so if you could consolidate information it would be greatly appreciated!!! Anyway, i hear alot about the s4 intakes, just ***** ebay until i get lucky? Ah, so many questions..so little time. If anyone who's been through this could work with me through pm's just pm me to let me know, thanks.....oops sorry i'm threadjacking.

Well I am building a 12a turbo also. All I have so far is a rebuilt S5 turbo and manifold ($300) with 100 miles on it and my intercooler.
The car I have is already streetported (don't know exactly what type) and already has Mikuni 44phh carbs with racingbeat intake. I have heard that the Mikuni's are better than webber's b/c the floats are ready for the extra pressure. The bad thing is parts are REALLY hard to find.
I still have a ways to go but i feel that I have the biggest parts out of the way. Hey can you guys recomend the best fuel pressure regulator for me. I am not trying to spend $150 on it unless it is totally neccary.
Also on mazspeed.com there are a few peeps with turbo 12a's.

I got a different setup than most guys on here: FUEL INJECTION!!! First I had a drawthrough carbureted setup, but I got tired of carburetors and trying to figure out how to get it to run perfectly, and decided computer control is superior and easier. I got 3000 into my fuel injection conversion alone.
