I recently became the owner of an 84 GSL and it has a small idle problem. The car idles around 800-1000 or so when it's warm and it just pulsates between this range. Sounds like it has modified cams. (I know it doesn't, but just to give you an idea what it sounds like.) Any ideas?

 

plugs/wires/dizzy or vacuum leak. could be your flux capacitor too.

Basically what he said... spray some carb cleaner around your carb, and if your rpms jump, you have a vaccum leak... i have one

 

A whooping noise? Kinda like a honking noise? Read this article on Mazdatrix website..sounds like your Shutter valve could be bad.
