whoever says "hindsight is 20/20"...

has obviously never tried to use my rearview mirrors! the center one is fine.... been sawed off and replaced by a nice, stable glued to the glass standard mirror. no, i'm talkin' about the side mirrors. i'd swear there's mini paint shakers in those things! and all 3 sevens i've owned have been like that. anyone know how to make the things actually usable? so far, the best thing i've come up with is to cram a piece of foam between the mirror and the housing. not pretty, but sorta works. i'd like to keep 'em original, i like having the power adjust.

Never had that problem. Maybe I never looked in the mirrors often enough back when my 85 was my daily driver. I know the pass. side was loose, and as it's going to be transplated (along with all front sheetmetal, nose, motor & tranny, glass, interior, and doors...) to Project 82 I'll be mounting it securely.
Dude these have always been cheap little cars, any tastefully done modification to fix a problem probably won't cost you too many points at the Perfectly Stock Classic Concours Judging (hee hee I kill myself sometimes).
If you find a better solution than the foam, post it!

I had the problem when I was using the power mirrors. I have since ripped the mirrors off my 79. They are non-power (a plus in my book), a bit lighter (every little bit counts), and very stable.
