Well the one thing I did was paint the ugly silver center dash black. I have a brown interior and hated the fact that the silver threw off the whole interior. I used DupliColor's Trim and panel paint which works great in terms of no dripping, it's a non gloss black of excellent quality that matches perfectly with the black piece on the gauge display. When I redid the Z last winter, I changed the ugly tan/gold interior to gray. Bought new fabric, vinyl and carpet to match. Somehow the oem color just didn't go with the violet pearl over burgandy paint.
Went to the local automotive paint store and had them mix up a qt. of SEM interior paint. Took on my in abric samples and they matched a color to go with them. They can adjust the gloss rate to whatever you want.
It was 45-50 bucks for the paint. Make sure you get the paint prep cleaner also. 2 coats with an airbrush on small parts, touch-up gun for the bigger ones, and it looks great.

I painted my interior. I have original black interior but put burgundy seats, roof, door panels, and armrest from an '84 GSL. I used the Duplicolor Vinyl & Fabric paint that I know you can get at AutoZone and Advance stores. Maybe others but it's not in every store you'll go to. Plan on buying several cans of it because you'll have to apply numerous coats to cover up the burgundy. Red is the strongest pigment out there and very hard to paint over.

I did mine the summer before last using a product called Vinylkote, available from a company called Parasol Inc. (check out their web site by punching Parasol Inc into your search engine). The stuff goes on and stays on without looking like the interior has been painted. Only fading I've seen is on places where my hand are in regular contact with, likr the shift **** and e-brake handle.
I re-did my interior in the same burgundy that the car came with, but another member in Ontario (Jolean) re-did her '83 in black--- the previous color was tan. You might want to pm her for an update.
