Well thanks to "the man" the thread is unlocked so I can wrap up the T2 trans into the FB swap.

One last detail is the shift rod tube. It just needs to be cut 2cm so it will fit. You can do this one of two ways.
1. Just take it over to a saw and hack off 2cm of the end
2. Or you can "section" it by taking the 2cm out of the center of it. This way you don't have to use any RTV or silcone to seal it back up. After the 2cm was cut out of it I had a guy TIG weld the tube back together. I figured by doing it this way I would have less chance of a leak because it would seal on the original rubber.

I put the trans back together today and it shifts through all the gears, made me pretty happy to see it worked

this may seem like a dumb reply, but what flywheel are you using for this? turbo or na? what about the starter.

from the way I see it I could install a TII engine leave the larger flywheel on and use the TII starter as one unit.

Just thought I would let you know that I destroyed my T2 box during the week. 3rd gear isn't there anymore

Went through 1st and 2nd, punched 3rd and it punched me back. The gear is bobbing around the bottom of the box somewhere....getting it fixed Monday.

Been there done that, Twice! 3rd gear seems to be the the weak link in 84-85 style trannies, and now maybe in the T2 tranny.
I know it scared the crap out of me when it went.
and then you just pray you still have some other gears to limp home on, hehe

Looks like fun racing, which Rx-7 is yours? Do you guys get those fender flares off a mid-early 80's supra or something?

That transmission is pretty cool but that would blow my budget by getting one of those. I'd like to stay under 6k for the whole project. Maybe after I win the loto though

The racing is real fun, my car is number 18 (Red), the cars run two different fendor flares, 1 just screw on (my ones, fairly basic), the 2nd ones are very much the same as the supra, goodpick!
