who has bought new fenders from black dragon?

my mom backed into my car about a week ago. im currently trying to get parts together to fix the damage. i need a new fender, headlight assembly and cover, valace, and bumper cover. i thought about trying to find the parts used the same color to save me some trouble, but then i saw the price for used and saw that black dragon sales new fenders for $100. has anyone ordered some of these body parts from black dragon? it says they may be scratched or dented and need repair. if itll need too much repair then i might as well buy used. just looking for people with experience. thanks

I have not bought from them but one time I bought a aftermarket fender for one of my Se's.
The fit was not exact as the original. You should see if the dealer is still offering some. When I got mine years ago the difference between an aftermarket and a OEM was only $20.00.

First question I'd ask is how much shipping is to your location, then balance that aginst the cost of sourceing used parts, which most of the others probably will be.

I've had good luck w/them a few time(fast delivery) but then a few times I got sub-par parts...The tie-rod boots are a #%^* joke! Sway bar kits too... they list them for 85RX7 but then you look under universal sway bar kit and it's the same part#, they're tricky but good w/some of that hard to find crap. I seen that in there about the fender may have some imperfections(dents, scratches)...and I thought that was nuts. I rather have OEM, IMO, goodluck.

IIRC his car is Tornado Silver Metallic but I could be wrong. **** I'd make your mom pay for the damages since she's the one who wasn't paying attention LOL. Yeah you should check the dealer out and see what the cost would be. Good thing she didn't hit the rear and ruin those lights! LOL

An OEM fender is about $130 in this area. For me this is a better deal than the BD deal. YMMV. I put an OEM on the SE. Also, for the 83GS, got a $10 fender from the Pick n Pull that's excellent.

wow. i figured OEM would be outrageous. i guess i need to call mazda. forget black dragon.

no, this wasnt on my SA which is tornado silver, it was my DD which is the light blue color.

heres a video for reference:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/0...d7010e5fb5.htm

i found a used fender, valace, and headlight assembly from the same guy off ebay. the fender is $95 shipped. itd need some work. removal of stickers, adhesive and reapply stripping.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...0856839&rd=1,1

she will be paying for the damages. thats for sure. its not my fault. why should i pay? im just worried about getting new fenders cause then theyll have to be painted and the paint on my car is faded. so thatll lead to having to have a full paint job. time and $$ i dont really have. if it leads to that though, itll be getting a color change to my much more desired blue from the SA era.
