Minor surface rust my ***... Man I thought my love of my life my 1980 red rx was bad.. Damn dude Thats a shame, fine automobiles they were and all because a few people cant drive on the snow w/o the usuage of salt
I think I still got a rotor housing thats worse I think it came from an 88 t2, the housing was almost cracked wide open!
Oh by the way anyone notice how ported the exhaust is anyways?
So whats the basic plans for this one?

The 7 won't be back on the road. its to join the others 7's
in the 7 graveyard. way to much rust......
The engine was over-reved on the highway and toasted the front rotor.
The engine plans are still up in the air, its got a mild port already, and may be blended with a SE motor into a Bridgeported 13B 4 port.
There are still a few salvagable parts of the car, a VERY tight steering box, and oh the center console was FULL of pocket change.
PJ! there was at least 5 pounds of coins, you could of shaved some time off the 1/4 if you would of spent the $ hehe

I re - read what I said, and it came out kinda harsh. Im sorry dude, I went to edit it. But after 60 minutes cant edit But I got the same problem, a car that I dearly love will probally be put down cuz of rust. Too bad car's rust cuz i would have kept this one forever I truely loved it, and I would have been pissed if someone said what I did, and Im sorry dude. And sorry for your car ... Always look on the bright side tho, rusted cars weigh less. Just put a little duct tape over it to smooth out the aerodynamic ill-effects and put her on the 1/4 mile track again
So whats the next project?

Pauls wrecker is the ONLY way to pull an engine
Those internals look alot like the two engines I blew; albeit a bit dirtier
shame all that rust on a white FB I've only seen one white before; rust on a white car always looks worse too.
Whos making it to the Indy meet on Mar. 23? It would be cool to meet up with you guys again and shoot the bull. That way I won't be the only 1st gen there
Well good luck on the engine hopefully it has some reusable parts. If you need any internals I have plenty of stuff

@ Suparslinc I'd like to go, but really dont wanna drive all that way. Plus the FB wont be finished ANYTIME soon. I still got the 88 vert tho Roll up there with the top down But if anyone is going and I can meet them somewhere I'd gladly pitch in some $$$$'s and give some good conversation

Good Work, Wrench-hands...
You Cowboys did good. Really nice photos. BTW Pete, did you get the rear brakes fixed on "Lil Maz," your silver GSL?

Mike I heard that we are meeting up at exit 1 on I-74. This is right off I-75N just before it hits I-275. We are going to meet at the BP on the corner at 7:30 a.m.
Since my private message hasn't worked in months just email me at Suparslinc@msn.com and I'll give you some more info

Well folks, unfortunately WT is a goner, the skin cancer's just too far gone... during breaks in between grippin'-n-rippin' I was poking parts of the body with my finger, and pushing holes through parts of the roof and fenders. Basically the car is rust held together with paint and Bondo.
The engine already WAS street ported I was extremely pleased to find that the side housings were not destroyed, damage was limited to the front rotor and rotor housing. "What happened was" I overrevved it (somewhere beyond 8500rpm) and flattened the apex seal springs. The next day I took it over 6200 and the apex seals chattered/bounced and cracked two of them - one cracked seal was intact, the other one broke up and completely disappeared, but left LOTS of evidence! One of the dents in the rotor is so deep that it punched through, allowing oil to get into the combustion chamber - so THAT'S why I was getting blue smoke!
After I got the engine & stuff back up to Cleveland (yes, the assembled housings, boxes of rotors & parts, bags of parts, header, manifold, transmission, radiator, etc.etc.etc. ALL fit in the '85! Didn't dirty the interior either thanks to many trash bags) I measured the apex seal spring height "the Polish way" - put the apex seals on over the springs. The apex seals that remain barely protrude out of the rotor - all of the seal springs are BADLY flattened. I'm amazed that the engine would even start!
Future plans... I dunno yet, but I am thinking of adding eyebrows over the ports in the end plates, combining them with a street ported GSL-SE center plate, and GSL-SE rotors/housings/E-shaft, making a lower manifold to mate with a 2nd-gen upper manifold, and making a half-bridge fuel injected 4-port 13B. I make it sound so easy Meanwhile I need to have new oil hoses made up, so I can mount WT's oil cooler ahead of my '85 radiator, and I'll be installing the MSD setup in BoM2. And possibly the dump pipe. Hey, it's like my trademark at Norwalk!

I have so many different ideas for what to do with what's left, the BP 13B is only one of them Problems are only opportunities in disguise! All of my ideas center around the idea of bridge porting the end plates, so in a few weeks after I get my camera fixed you'll be seeing pictures of some freshly re-ported housings As much as I like the FI 4-port 13B concept, I like 12As better and there's absolutely no reason I couldn't do the exact same thing with a 12A And either way, I'd need to acquire a donor '84-85 engine, 12A or 13B. (NO the engine in BoM2 is not coming out and getting tinkered with, either)
