White smoke question

I finally got around to getting ths car after the carb swap and now it smokes like hell. I replaced gasket, o-rings, blocked the water passages. Is it posible that water is seeping into the ports and out the exhaust? There is nothing leaking on the outside of the manifold. The motor never smoked before. I'm baffled!

is this a fresh rebuild, has it been overheated recently, pintched inner water jacket oring, I found the uv dye kit to be very helpful in finding the coolant leak in my old motor. put dye in at the parts store when you buy it drive it home let it sit over night, remove ignition wires, fuel , remove leading spark plugs, put some towel/paper towel if front of spark plug holes, crank the engine, inspect with uv light see if coolant is getting into one of the housings. helped me find a coolant leak into my #1 rotor. It didnt help me because the builder didnt honnor his warranty, helped because I knew what was wrong. and stopped driving to hopefully save internals

Little more history would be helpful.... But the "White Smoke" title says it all... you're getting water either in the combustion chamber or in the exhaust pipe.... Where becomes the question. Is this a freshly rebuilt engine?

An overly rich set of jets will give you a blue-ish smoke that'll smell like raw gas.

Oil will tend to be darker and sooty.

Did you put ATF down the intake to aid in starting a hard-to-start motor???? That will result in a white smoke screen.... like a WW 2 destroyer......

So, if ya were a lot more specific and provided engine history... ya might get some helpful clues

Not a rebuild. This was a perfectly good running motor that never smoked. The carb went bad and I just decided to change to the RB setup. I took the stock stuff off and put the new stuff on. There was no problems with coolant leaks or anything else.

If you did not drain the block from coolant before you took the old manifold off then coolant leaked into the engine. This will burn off after about 10-15 minutes or so. If it keeps on smoking then you have a leak most likely around the two coolant passages on the intake.
