i got mine from ebay, i haven't installed them yet due to the lack of free time, SB is coming so i'll probably tackle the project then. What about those needles? they don't settle right, anyone know how this can be prevented? and opinions on what color scheme I should go for on my interior?

Weird. I think the white background ones look "older" or less modern. Maybe they look modern to some people because of the trend of certain "modern" cars imitating older styling with white retro guages. The white on black background was designed for contrast and visibility purposes not for any particular time era.

Anyone ever seen reverse or glow gauges for 79-81 style?
Jose?
I've got red lighting in my gaugecluster, are the gaugeplates "shine through"? And want "shines throug" ? the counters or the white plate? and is there a Metric set also? I still got the standard black plates and interesting in your plates, but I want to keep my red lighting.
I airbrused the white "box" where the gauges are mounted in en put in red bulbs. It work fine at night, but I want get rid of the black gaugeplates.

To remove the 'black' faces that are 'solid' no light passes through, you'll need to make templates out of clear 'plexi-glass', the white guage faces are over-lays.
they require a backing to screw the faces too not to metion the guages have to screw to something too. if one has an 85 mph stock speed-o guage it's worth while to get a guage cluster from an 1983 with a 140 mph speed-o. as long as you use the odemeter and a 140 face together no other pieces are needed the speed-o will read the right speed you are going,, i've done this. the hardest thing to do is to pull the needles out without ******* them up. also nail polish works real good for the needles tons of colours for cheap and comes with a brush too, dries fast. remember to keep your hands clean.

Mark, did you get the paper one or the new vinyl ones. I have been making the viny ones for about two years.. If you follow the installation page in my website, the vinyl ones are lighted from behind with the stock light bulbs...
Regarding a discount ... let me know what's your interest, a discount should not be a problem at all...

they are not back-lit, so they aren't to bright at night.
i bought a set the minute jose started to sell the over-lays. the only place to buy white face 140 mph 80-83
1st gen guage faces at a reasonable price, i might add.
i love'em, and have had them for a couple of years now.
Jose, here's some feedback for you... mine have faded,
the reds, yellow, green. the black is still going.. how about a discount on the latest, for return customers ??

I bought the paper, then the vinyl guys, followed the directions from the site too. turned out perfect. i used the stock guage and screwed the vinyl to the face, not much if any light shows through...no biggie. i'll contact you through your site when i choose a guage set. thanks Jose.

one thing i dont get is on the 81-83 he has some that go to 140mph.... stock is 80mph.. how would you adjust your guage to work with a 140 setting?

you get the 83 odemeter/speed-o to go with the 140 mph faces. i had the 85 mph speed-o in my 1982, used 83 odemeter/speed-o and the guage faces i bought from Jose. under my white face speed-o is the 85 mph
still, can't see it though, the stock 85 mph speed-o cable works fine with the 140 odemeter/speed-o guage
