Well I was driving home today and get on the highway with the usual 10+ psi of boost. All going well, merging into the center lane blowing away some car in the fast lane--then she dies--nothing.

Pull her over and still dead as can be. No bad sound, smoke, detonation--nothing, just won't run. A buddy tows me home and I start checking everything else--fuel pressure good, spark good, compression good (whew)--it's like wtf--what's wrong. It would start but only for a second, sometimes I could get to my normal steady vacuum reading--then it dies.

For some reason I check the turbo inlet and there it is--the inlet blew off the turbo--so the AFM was not getting a good flow reading. Guess I need a bigger BOV, that TID is only supposed to see vacuum--after shifting the BOV failed to relieve all the back pressure and blew the TID off the turbo. In my defense I did check FMIC and IC piping hoses (these are common to blow off), but I never expected to blow off the TID--now I know better.

It was a major PITA but I'm REALLY glad I didn't blow the engine.

Just thought I'd share my tough day with you all--but I did make it to the super bowl party after all.
