Where to start with a Holley 390 CFM

I have a unknown origin Holley 0-8007 http://holley.com/0-8007 on a 12a. How can I find out if it's a racing beat one? if not, where should I start? Anything in particular I should know about Holly + Rotary? For the record it works well now, 40 mile daily commute. Only about 20mpg though :O

Only?!~ I'm lucky to get 22 with my Nikki.

Are the OMP tubes run to the carb or are you pre-mixing?

Well I figured a 12a was good for 25 mpg I'm shifting at 2800 and its 1/2 freeway.

OMP tubes do run to the carb. I should test the OMP but have not.

Where does one start? With selling the Holley and finding a Sterling Nikki or a decent 2 barrel set up for a rotary. In your case, 20 mpg is decent mileage.

Hrm maybe. but I suppose I'd need a new intake manifold

I've got a 390. I've made it work well on a stock intake manifold with a 3/4" aluminum adaptor. It needs an open plenum under the carb.

20 mpg?! that's insane.
I get about 12-14mpg depending on how i drive. That's all city miles too. So, i'd be very happy with twenty. Especially with an aftermarket intake.

Couple of things; Its in a MG midget, lighter than a SA, by 500 lbs or more. Its also a stock port and and at 70 mph its about 3000 rpm. Checked again, it was only 19 this time But then with my 7.5 gallon tank I fill up every two or three days

I bet that car is hella fun though. Hell, even a completely stock Rex is a blast. Bet the midget is quite the cruiser. There's alot of things you can do to increase your mileage though that can be done. Just takes time, some things i've done is first: Pressured Cold Air Intake Box, and i've added wasted spark ignition(which i noticed a power gain for sure, but, my mileage has stayed about the same.)

Hey pagefaulted, I just noticed you've got an MG Midget and you're in Seattle. I've got an MG Midget that's getting a carbed 13B soon. Maybe we'll meet up some time.
