where should the temp gauge sit?

I was wondering what the normal position for the temp gauge at normal operating temp...

Mine sits about a half a centimeter above the "c" line. after i flog it for a bit, it occasionally rises to about 1/4 of the way between "c" and "h".

Mine is the same way.

My -SE sat a bit higher, almost halfway.

My –SE had always ran at ½ until this past Sunday, got a new and shinny radiator on the way!

my -SE always sat around halfway until I got a new thermostat from Mazda and change the coolant, since then it always sits 1/4way and if i push it hard it goes to 1/3.

that's my 2 cents

On my 85 12A, it sits just below 1/2 way. I donlikit...It never seems to fluxuate, even when I'm romping on her. Can't be very accurate.

Mine sits right between the oil pressure gauge and the tach.
(sorry, I just couldn't stand it any longer. it had to be said)

the stock ones are generally described as having the classic three position : cold, somewhat normal (or acceptable), and you just cooked your engine. so i would definatly not trust it for accuracy.
