where should I put the oil cooler.

I was out working on the seven earlier and I was sizing up my cooling system and how I wanted to mount my radiator and oil cooler.

I have the stock 82 oil cooler and a Mazdatrix 3 row radiator.

Im not sure that this will be sufficient for my new turbo setup. I road race from time to time and I know that can kill a under-cooled setup.

Anyways I am thinking that a large alluminum radiator mounted at a angle (like on moremazda's post) should do the trick.

But that leaves no room for the oil cooler.

What would be a good place for the oil cooler. I can make some AN lines so it can go anywhere.

I was thinking of mounting it to the front shroud, like the way the mount intercoolers in GTC

give me some Ideas

that being said, I should have a mazdatrix 3core radiator and stainless steel oil cooler lines for sale.

put the oil cooler in front of the radiator. http://www.sevensonly.com can sell you an aluminum crossflow radiator and oil cooler lines with brackets.

then just put the oil cooler in front of the intercooler. I have ac in my car, so that was my problem, so I just mounted my oilcooler farther up in the air dam.

BTW the 7s only place doesnt have any of their products listed. Drivefast7, how much is the alluminum radiator?

I say put the oil cooler in front of everything, to be sure it gets proper air flow. Plus being as small (compared to the rad that is) as it is it shouldn't block to much air flow.

there isnt enough space between the intercooler and that bar that is in the front. Ill have to mount it up top somewhere.

I had the same problem, no damn place to put the oil cooler! So I ditched the stocker for a thermo transfer one I got at work. It's about 10"x10" and I have a little 8" fan mounted to it on a shroud. The whole works fits under the drivers side headlight. I just plumbed it up tonight but have to have the hoses crimped tomorrow.
Hope to try to run it tomorrow night!

I didnt use the bar to mount it, I just mad some brackets and attached them to the sides of the air dam passage. I did have to do a little cutting to get the lines in there, but thats because I have a FC oil cooler.
