Where Is That Rattle Coming From??????

OK, here's how it is. I have an 85 GSL with a full range box w/ Pioneer mids and tweets pointed forward right behind the seats. I have two JL W-6 12s firing to the rear w/ the speakers having about 5 inches clearance to the back. JL amps all around. My trunk looks pretty intimidating to say the least (heh, heh). It sounds bad-*** on the inside, 75 and 50 watts to the mids and tweets respectively, and a VERY modest 200 RMS to the subs, which have no max power rating. However, something is making a God-awful rattling from UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I simply cannot pinpoint where this is coming from. Here's what I do know, it isn't coming from anywhere inside, it isn't the hood or bumper or license plate, it almost sounds like the exhaust piping is gonna come crashing out from under me someday, but i can't tell, even when under the car with the volume halfway up. Somebody please give me some suggestions as to what to do, this is driving me CRAZY!!

I had a similar problem after I installed my system. What i did was i placed my car on a lift (you could use jack stands) and cranked the music while going underneath the car trying to follow the rattle. In my case it was some rusty heat shelds which i removed. Do you have any pics of your system?

No pics yet, but plan to have some soon. Also, I have looked under the car with the music cranked, the problem is that the rattle seems to be coming from the ENTIRE UNDERSIDE of the car, I hope its just my imagination, but is there any way to, say, for lack of a better word, "Dynamat" the underside of my car. Also, have you conidered using a plasma cutter to do something about the tremendous wheel well overlap on your car? I'm assuming that picture is of your car. Cutting two or so inches off the wheel well would do wonders for your appearance. What kind of wheels are those and where can I find some for a relatively decent price (under $800)? I think they'd look badass on my glossy red rex.
