Not sure about the front ones, but the rear for me they just kind of fell or broke off. I grabbed on to them and the rubber part popped off in my hand.

The rear bump stops are hollow. There is a bolt inside at the top, just unbolt them, trim and reinstall. Good chance they will come apart though. Victoria British sells replacements.

there was an excellent article in Sport Compact Car back in the day when they actually respected FBs. They cut about 1" off the rounded point of the bump stops, IIRC.

When i pulled my bumpstops off they fell apart from the washer. I just took some new SS fender washers and slapped some contact cement on that and the rubber bump and good as new.

Sport Compact Car actually respected the FB at some point?! Not trying to pirate the thread, but does anyone recall an issue month/year so I could look up some articles? I've [mostly] liked SCC's tech articles and writings styles before, and I think it would be an interesting read.

yeah - dave was writing an article about hopping up his dad's old FB - swapped in a GSL-SE suspension, brakes, and hubs, cut the bump stops, painted it midnight blue... then he got promoted to senior editor and has crapped on FBs ever since, the hypocritical *****.
