where to get cheap spark plugs?

anyone have a good source for inexpensive NGK (specifically BR9EQ-14) plugs? the local schucks wants $9 each, and i think that's too much to spend.

or is there a less expensive option that will serve me jsut as well?

I think Advance Auto has them for around $6 a plug. Or if there are any big motorcycle shops around they have some nice NGK's. I think I'm using B8EG motorcycle race plugs in my car.

did an employee discount have anything to do with that price?

and what qualifies as proof of the price? i've been calling napa stores, trying to track down some in stock for $6.23/ea.

Did a google search and found Rock Auto has them for $5.23 ea / set of 4.
Link

Never have done business with them, but they have a good web site, lots of parts.

would it be ill-advised to pick up a set of autolite or bosch plugs as an interim solution? i seem to recall hearing some noise about them breaking and grenading the motor...

People were saying the four ground Bosch plugs can break and kill apex seals. I don't really like Autolites.

NGK for me.

The center electrodes are rounded instead of flat on top. Higher voltage is required for a spark to jump the gap. If your engine is already having trouble running, I wouldn't recommend these old plugs. You'd be better off with new BR8EQ-14s instead.

I didn't think Bosch did. They do make a four ground plug that resembles NGK plugs, but the little ground electrodes can break off and kill apex seals, or something like that. I read about it in '97.

Doh, I got mine from Mazdatrix for $8 each. The local Kragen wanted $11 each and then several weeks for shipping. NO THANKS.

Br8eq14.

I was at the one in Snellville. go out 78 until you cross 124, it is about a mile and a half on the left. Just past the advance.

They did not list them for the rx7 But I got the guy to go look on the shelf and there they were. Autozone does not carry NGK, Advance has to order them in, and the local NOPI has to order them in.
