Where is the clutch interlock equipment?

Wow, I'm really clogging up the board with all of this Auto to 5 Spd crap...lol. Anyway. I believe I have most of the stuff off of the donor car except for the transmission, which is ready to drop, and a few other odds and ends. The main thing I am confused about right now is the clutch interlock system. When I took out the pedals there was no switch hooked up to the pedal. There was one plug that hooked into the top of the brake pedal, but nothing for the clutch. Question being, where is the clutch interlock stuff and what do I need to pull? I cut out most of the wires becasue they were getting in the way. There were some relays i yanked out, and a few other things. I also unhooked a metal bracket that was bolted to the pedal assembly. It was unpainted with the horn relay and some other stuff hooked to it.

I know my 85 GS will have the plug in for the clutch interlock but what does it plug into? Is there some kind of sensor or something that I need to pull also? I'm wondering what it looks like or If I yanked it out already? Any of you guys taht have done the swap PLEASE HELP! I'd like to get everything off of this car that I need, so nothing slips through my fingers and I end up buying it again later when I already had it. Thanks!

Jamie

Clutch interlock?

Both of my 1st-gens start without touching the clutch pedal. Furthermore, my '85 does have a clutch switch but it is ONLY used for the cruise control. The cruiseless '80 had no switch at all.

Don't worry about it.

I don't like pushing in the clutch pedal to start my engines because I know what it does to the thrust plate. No oil pressure for a few seconds at startup wears the rear side of the thrust assembly as the rotating assembly is pushed forward by the slave cylinder.

MG engines suffer severe wear from this appearantly.

I think all newer cars require you to press in the clutch pedal for startup. I don't know what they use to keep the their boinger bits from wearing, but it still seems dumb (I'm sure it's for the dullards out there who don't routinely check their shifters before turning the key, and to make more money in repair bills).
