anybody see the Mazda Indy car race this past weekend on Speed? they've got 3 rotors in them. The only bad thing was the announcer was like "yeah, they're the same engine put in the Rx-8, a Mazda 3 rotor engine." It was sweet watching indy cars backfire, though!

Hitman's 3 rotor

The engine in Hitman's FB is a hybred. a mixture of 12A, 13B, 20B and custom. To quote from his website.

"Now , let us get this straight... this is not a 20B Mazda engine. It is a hand made 13B engine with 3-rotors. Built using a custom manufactured crankshaft and a modified 12A Series 3 centre plate to accept a stationary gear , this is one unique engine. A 20B upper inlet manifold and throttle body are used but the lower section does not fit because my engine is shorter , so a custom made lower section was fabricated. The engine uses the front mounts with a custom cross-member leading to standard engine mounts."

it does not cost millions to make a 4 rotor. if you have access to a CNC machine and a few spare 13b's, then you can make your self a 4 rotor. more than likely at the cost of a few rebuild kits and metal. Then there are the man hours....
