Where to & best place to get internal carb parts?
I need to get my hands on the 2 little ***** and ball weights that go inside the stock nikki carb on my 85' 12a and was wondering if anyone sold these or is it a Mazda order only?
Thanks for any/all info.

You can use the little check ball in a pump sprayer from a Fabreeze or cleaner bottle to replace the 2 little *****. They are pretty much the same size. As for the weights, use a large piece of wire, such as a coat hanger or similar. Thats what I used in mine and it worked fine.
But if you want original parts, go to mazda. I don't think anyone else sells them, and you might be luck to get them from mazda. Its quite possible they aren't produced anymore.

Ooof.
Well your info on my last two threads has been more than helpful, but the heat shield answer I liked alot better than this one,
Thanks again!
Don't doubt the power of improvisation. Follow his advice, and you should have no problems. The only tough part will be fabbing the metal rod, since you have nothing to pattern it from. Otherwise, grab a junk carb from a junkyard and grab the parts you need.
Pick up an old junk carb later on, and send it in to Carl or Sterling to have it revived. They do awesome work. I have one of their race carbs and the difference it made in performance is incredible. The cheapest carb solution and (in my opinion) the best choice out there, especially when considering the low cost. Good luck...

i very much agree with Kentetsu. Sterling carbs are fabulous! if you can't find a junk carb let me know. i have one that i'll pull apart for you and send you the parts. you pay shipping, thats it. good luck.

No I'm not doubting it's just I don't have anything to fab from(like you said)...I found a diagram and one seems to be a little bigger than the other but i dunno.
Anyway my junkyards around here suck. I pulled 2 squirt bottles apart last night(pissed my wife off...because the bottles were at least half full)and found only very small hardplastic *****
Well I'm gonna start w/getting the ***** and weights so I can at least get running properly and then I'll go from there...I would buy a used carb from someone right now but I'm calling to order my exhaust today and w/the wheel and tire order last week, whew! $

Trochoid is searching through his stuff and if he finds some he's gonna mail them to me and then I'll send him some $$ and a cheese basket
If not, then I'm gonna buy some from someone, they're worth 5 times their weight in Gold to me right now...I've been working every day/all day long/7 days a week until dark(I'm just eating lunch right now)on this car for a month. I have a 5' X 5' pile of crap I've taken off and replaced so far. Doing extensive body work right now, sping/shock/strut installations, bushings, tie-rods, changing oil pan(rusted out), mounting tires/wheels, interior work, painting, ball-joints, trans filter change, undercoating underbody, repairing/fixing tail lights, will be installing exhaust early next week, ect, ect...you know the routine. Well I have no time to fabricate carb parts(no offense I know that your advice is valid and I've seen your work) and re-install carb and hope for optimal performance in hopes of not removing carb again...
I'm not lazy and I'm pretty crafty but my patients wears t-h-i-n w/this carb.
I called Mazda just for kicks, the guy's a flipping moron! He says "Oh man that's an old car, I don't know?", I said yeah so's a 69 Camaro but everyone wants one!
Anyway, you feel my pain right? And thanks for your help, I'd be stuck w/out all this info...actually I would park it and probably quit.
I have an '85 model that I'm pulling the carb off of & I'm not putting it back on. Far too much aggravation for me (I'll either find another carb or junk the car). If you can't find the ***** let me know & I'll sell you the whole carb cheap.

Dammit I get an error page so I back up & resend & then I get a double post. So now I'm wasting my time explaining that. Sometimes I think it's just better not to try to help. Sheesh.
